The Global Dollar Funding Shortage Is Back With A Vengeance And "This Time It's Different"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 17:34 Something curious has emerged as a result of the divergent "Fed-vs-Everyone-Else" central bank policy: as JPM observed over the weekend while looking at the dollar fx basis, the dollar funding shortage is back with a vengeance, and is accelerating at pace not seen since the Lehman collapse.Sunday Humor: Spot The Greek Tax Collector

from TruthNeverTold:
Greenspan's Insulting Admission Of Fed Culpability
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 20:25 Greenspan started the destructive Keynesian tradition of pumping liquidity to stimulate the economy, and this tradition has created significant economic pain for Main Street in the form of long-term unemployment and underemployment, reduced wages, foreclosures, bankruptcies, reduced savings rates, shuttered businesses, and drained savings and retirement accounts. So, “Mr. Bubble” inferring that the Fed creates unsustainable bubbles for the benefit of Main Street is pretty insulting.NATO's Not Enough! President Juncker Calls For Creation Of European Army To "React Credibly" To Russia
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 21:40 No lessor official than European Commission President (and liar-when-it's-serious) Jean-Claude Juncker has called for the creation of an EU army... in order to show Russia "that [The EU is] serious about defending European values." Juncker explained an EU army would "help us fulfil Europe's responsibilities in the world," arguing that NATO was not enough since not all EU members are part of the alliance. As one stunned euro-skeptic exclaimed, "we have all seen the utter mess the EU has made of the economy, so how can we even think of trusting them with its defence.""Ignore This Measure Of Global Liquidity At Your Own Peril", Albert Edwards Warns
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 11:04 With all eyes squarely on the ECB as Mario Draghi prepares to flood the EMU fixed income market with €1.1 trillion in new liquidity starting Monday, Soc Gen’s Albert Edwards reminds us that “another type of QE” is drying up thanks largely to the relative strength of the US dollar. "The bottom line is that in a world of over-inflated asset values, the strength of the dollar is resulting is a rapid tightening of global liquidity as emerging economies (and indeed the Swiss) stop printing money to buy the US dollar. This should be seen for what it is — a clear tightening of global liquidity. Investors ignore this at their peril."Greece "Risks Bankruptcy" As Europe Rejects Varoufakis Payment Plan; Another Referendum Fiasco Ensues

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 12:49 Following a speech at Delft University in Holland, Eurogrpup head Jeroen Dijsselbloem was confronted by a calmly-spoken, rational-thinking Greek student, who explained the misery and insanity of what the EU is doing to Greece... "1000s of Greek have committed suicide because of your policies... you keep on giving loans to Greece to pay back the same loans... its like going one loan shark to another loan shark to get more loans to pay back another loan shark."Bart Chilton: Since 2007's Rise Of The Machines, "Markets Have Not Been The Same"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 21:35 "Commodity pricing is vastly more important than most people actually realize," explains former CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton, warning that "beginning around 2007 the rise of computer driven trading algorithms changed the rules, and the markets have not been the same since." Chilton is sympathetic to the perception many frustrated and bruised investors have about the manipulation of the precious metals markets - on record saying that the large short position concentrations have been outrageous. Why not the CFTC directly? Sadly, the former CFTC boss notes, "regulators by and large aren't listening to average people."Is Congress Enabling The 'Disabling' Of America?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 13:30 Sometime next year Social Security’s $150 billion disability-insurance program will become insolvent. Congressional loosening of benefit requirements, and more-importantly allowing people to remain on disability effectively for life once they gain it (less than 1% of the people on disability return to the workforce in any given year) make the problem one that is utterly intractable without major changes. And so Congress' bipartisan Social Security Advisory Board has urged change...like shifting funds to the Social Security disability fund from the Social Security retirement fund.Biotech Bubble Reaches Epic Proportions As Short Interest Rises
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 12:00 Biotech stocks continue to make new highs on the back of aggressive M&A and pre-revenue IPOs. Bloomberg suggests the bubble may be about to burst. In The Past 7 Years America Added 17 Million People, And Zero Full-Time Jobs
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/08/2015 - 10:37 The US population grew from February 2008 to February 2015 by 16.8 million persons, or a 5.5% increase in total population, and on a net basis, not a single one of those 16.8 million persons got a FT (full time) job… while a net 2.7 million were lucky enough to get a (or multiple) PT (part time) job.Anti-Netanyahu Protest Fills Streets Of Tel Aviv As Ex-Mossad Chief Calls His Congress Speech "Bullshit"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/07/2015 - 23:20 Following Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress last week, Israel's former intelligence chief voiced his displeasure. As The Hill reports, Meir Dagan, a former Mossad director, strongly disagreed with many of Netanyahu’s assertions, stating that "Iranian missiles will never be able to hit the United States," and that comments that Iran could producer nuclear weapons within a year were "bullshit." But, as Mike Krieger notes below, it's not just just Dagan that is disappointed, a large protest against him erupted in the nation’s section largest city, Tel Aviv. It appears “Bibi” is far more popular with crazy American neocons than he is with his own fellow citizens.Guest Post: Revanchism & Russophobia - The Dark Undercurrents Of The War In Ukraine
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/07/2015 - 22:10 Could it be that one of the key factors motivating the West’s apparently illogical and self-defeating desire to constantly confront Russia is simply revanchism for WWII? Most people in the West want to live in peace and are completely unaware of these undercurrents of the war in the Ukraine. While the apparent Russophobia and revanchism is only relevant to various minority groups, the problem is that taken together and when they act in unison, these minorities end of wielding a lot of power and influence. The best way to stop them, is to shed a strong light on them and their real motives.Kindly note the pattern
There is a story being told to the masses about Chinese gold demand that is grossly incorrect. The huge discrepancy between numbers from the World Gold Council (WGC) and actual gold demand is so wide yet cunningly hidden I must conclude there is essential information about physical gold demand deliberately kept privy.
Let’s go back to April 2013; the price of gold made a nosedive, which spawned an unprecedented physical buying spree across the globe, most notably in China. Withdrawals from the vaults of the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE), that equal Chinese wholesale demand, closed at 2,197 metric tonnes December 31, 2013, up 93 % y/y.

California like the rest of nation has gained a large number of rental households. Many of these households were formed from the ashes of the 1 million completed foreclosures. Over the last ten years the nation has lost 1 million net homeowner households and has gained a whopping 10 million rental households. L.A. County with roughly 10 million residents is predominately a renter county. Over the last ten years the large gain in California households has come in the form of rentals. Maybe you find living with roommates deep into your 30s and 40s as awesome or maybe you enjoy living a Spartan lifestyle just so you can pay your monthly rent while hearing helicopters overhead in your hipster neighborhood. Every piece of research simply shows that people are being pushed into spending more money on housing. Some say move out. Well guess what? Many middle class Californians are doing just that. The rental and housing market has gone into full on financial Armageddon mode yet in typical California fashion, the sun keeps glowing brightly. Ironically over time people think it is normal to dump every nickel you have into housing. Let us look at three trends impacting the rental market in California.

The NFP jobs report for February was a complete joke. It didn’t match up at all with the plethora of weak data for the month such as; falling construction spending, disappointing durable goods and factory orders, negative consumer spending and retail sales, weak existing home sales, rising initial jobless claims and increasing layoffs reported by Challenger Grey and Christmas….
Also, private data from the ADP payroll report showed only 212k jobs created in February; not the 295k reported by BLS. In addition, the Household survey conducted by the BLS showed that just 96k jobs were created. And more importantly, the Labor Force Participation Rate dropped yet again.

This past week, the creepy “Homan Square” detention facility was revealed to the public, and the story has been trending heavily throughout the alternative media. First person accounts of suspects being whisked away to the secret building without any official record of their whereabouts, with no access to a lawyer, while being subjected brutal interrogations, sounds like something you’d hear about from some 3rd world dictatorship.
But unfortunately, it’s happening right here in America as we speak. And if this facility existed for so long without the public’s knowledge, that begs the question: are there any more of these police run “black sites” that we don’t know about?

The lack of any real debate in the Western media on Ukraine has irked me ever since the protests on Kiev’s Independence Square or Maidan Nezalezhnosti broke out in November 2013. The anti-Russian bias is so prevalent that perhaps average readers no longer detect it. In this post I would like to report on a very interesting presentation I heard and the disturbingly biased coverage of it in a Bulgarian student newspaper, which points to an alarming lack of critical thinking skills in today’s young adult population.
Given the deafening drumbeat of condemnation of Russia, and specifically Putin, I found Johanna Granville’s multimedia presentations on November 10 (“Ukraine: Another Yugoslavia?”) and especially November 19 (“Beyond Maidan: The Media Blackout in Ukraine”) at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) both refreshing and informative. While much of the information is already familiar to members of the Vineyard of the Saker community, the presentation invites analysis of the negative trend of repeated false flags in 2014 ever since the “Euromaidan revolution,” which so many uninformed citizens gullibly championed.

All over the news today we’re being told the white powder found in the offices of several Quebec federal cabinet ministers was just a harmless scare. Offices were evacuated and people were sent to the hospital yesterday after four suspicious envelopes which contained white powder and an intimidating message written in French that threatened the Conservatives turned up in key offices.
But this is just the latest in a string of recent anthrax scares cropping up all over North America, albeit in the U.S. mainly in local news outlets.

As Emailgate swirls around her, many may not realize that Hillary Clinton’s involvement with political scandals goes all the way back to the granddaddy of them all, Watergate. As she appears to gear up for a presidential run, the example of Watergate may well forebode her candidacy’s doom.
During Watergate, Clinton, of course, was not one of those under investigation for potential wrongdoing (though her conduct during the investigation raised ethical red flags); but she was one laying the groundwork to impeach President Richard Nixon, while working as a staff attorney on the House Judiciary Committee.

NATO is using the situation in Ukraine to push closer to Russia’s border, according to the Russian deputy defense minister. He says the Alliance’s activities have expanded considerably over the past years.
In their push, Anatoly Antonov says Allied forces are ignoring diplomacy.
“We’ve noticed that NATO member states are using the situation in southeastern Ukraine as a pretext to discard all diplomatic conventions, tricks and slogans and push forward, closer to the Russian border.”

“The bailout programs that were proposed for Greece and approved for Greece were much too one-sided. They relied too much on sacrifices on the part of Greece and not enough sacrifices on the part of Greece’s creditors.”
These words belong to a Brazilian economist called Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr. who represents 11 Central and South American countries on the IMF board. During a recent interview with private Greek television broadcaster Alfa TV, he made the following rather startling — but much ignored — assertions (none of which will be to the German government’s liking):
