Harvard professor and economist Ken Rogoff is once again leading the chorus of high-level academics and officials who declare cash is only for criminals. He made his case in a recent Wall Street Journal editorial called the “Sinister Side of Cash.” The solution, he declares, is to simply get rid of anything but the smallest bank notes.
In his vision, drug dealers, human traffickers, and tax cheats are everywhere, but they are reliant on cash. Our benevolent central planners can largely incapacitate them by ridding society of anything larger than a $10 bill.
Kingpins won’t know what to do when a single-engine Cessna full of cocaine requires a Boeing 747 full of $1s, $5s, and $10s to make payment.

United States — What don’t bees do for us? They pollinate myriad forms of our food and 90 percent of wild plants. They make sure that millions of flowers continue to bloom, and their honey is considered an aphrodisiac. In addition to all this, a toxin found in bee venom destroys the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) while leaving the human body unharmed.
Scientists from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, discovered that by poking holes in the protective layer surrounding HIV and other viruses, melittin — a toxin found in bee venom — could prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS by killing the virus, itself.

ioting and civil unrest are becoming a common occurrence in America. The city of Charlotte has been hit by a second night of violence even though authorities are desperately pleading for calm. What sparked the chaos in Charlotte was the shooting of a 43-year-old black man named Keith Lamont Scott. It appears that he was armed when he was shot, and the police officer that shot him was also black, but those facts have done little to ease the fury of the protesters. On Tuesday night 16 police officers were injured by rioters, including one that was hit in the face by a rock. Hopefully there will be fewer casualties by the time the violence on Wednesday night is over.

Syrian Social Nationalist Party representative Tarek Ahmad says that the war in Syria has reached a dead end, with the intervention of foreign powers turning the situation into a chaotic mess. Moreover, the politician says that Syria is just one front in a Third World War being waged by Washington and its allies.
The Social Nationalist Party is one of Syria’s oldest and largest parties. Up to 8,000 members of its armed branch, known as ‘the Eagles of the Whirlwind’, have successfully fought alongside the Syrian Army against Islamist militants, including Daesh. At the same time, the party has remained a key member of the Popular Front for Change and Liberation, a bloc of opposition parties in the country’s parliament.
