Warren Buffett believes “that bonds are very overvalued“, and a recent survey of fund managers found that 80 percent of them are convinced that bonds have become “badly overvalued“. The most famous bond expert on the planet, Bill Gross, recently confessed that he has a sense that the 35 year bull market in bonds is “ending” and he admitted that he is feeling “great unrest”. Nobel Prize–winning economist Robert Shiller has added a new chapter to his bestselling book in which he argues that bond prices are “irrationally high”. The global bond bubble has ballooned to more than 76 trillion dollars, and interest rates have never been lower in modern history. In fact, 25 percent of all government bonds in Europe actually have a negative rate of return at this point. There is literally nowhere for the bond market to go except for the other direction, and when this bull market turns into a bear it will create chaos and financial devastation all over the planet.

As the corrupt regimes of the West move slowly but inexorably toward “banning cash”; it’s very important that bullion-holders understand the full implications of the latest, fascist moves by these regimes. Simply, “banning cash” = bullion confiscation.
If the Zombie-serfs of Western nations are no longer allowed to hold any of our debauched paper ‘money’, they certainly won’t be allowed to hold real money – i.e. gold or silver. However, even here there may be a means of escape, for those who plan for this (inevitable?) eventuality.

Gillian Tett, markets and finance commentator and an Assistant Editor and former U.S. Managing Editor of the Financial Times, wrote an important and little noticed article last week questioning complacency on the part of European policy makers regarding a Greek default and potential exit or ‘Grexit’.
Tett wrote that statements out of Germany that Europe could manage a potential Greek exit and that markets had already priced in that eventuality had alarmed certain policy makers in the U.S.
The German stance was a reflection of their frustration with the lack of progress made over three months of talks with Greece and a consequent hardening of tone. However, U.S. officials are alarmed by the risk they see in European complacency to a Greek exit.

Last night in the Dallas suburb of Garland, Texas, at Pam Geller’s “Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest”, two alleged “gunmen” were shot and killed by a Special Ops paramilitary ‘SWAT’ unit hired by the city of Garland to provide security for the controversial event.

Those truly immortal words from Charles Dickens’ story, “A Tale of Two Cities”, are timeless. When I was young, I wondered what on earth those lines even meant, but believe me, I don’t wonder any longer.
As I’ve all grown older, I’ve come to realize that those lines can apply to almost any age you could live in. In every single generation, there are those who are primped, oblivious, wicked, or simply living in a fake, bubble world. While alongside those awful types, are the very honest and righteous among us, who are fighting for a better world, or just the hope of seeing a little justice before our time on earth is up…
That’s why the words recently spoken in a Bloomberg article are such a troubling sign that many uber-wealthy elites, even many ‘insiders’, like everyone else in our time, simply don’t have a clue…

More than four years after a tsunami washed away the city of Fukushima, and damaged its nuclear plant beyond repair, TEPCO is still struggling to contain the radioactive materials within their facility. Japanese authorities are currently engaged in a truly sisyphean task when it comes repairing the plant, as it seems like every time they manage to secure a leak, another one pops up somewhere else. This happens so often that it’s barely covered by the news anymore, as the world slowly accepts its radioactive future.
TEPCO recently announced that they had discovered a small wet patch outside of a storage tank on May 1st. The 40 milliliter puddle is currently emitting 70 millisieverts per hour, and was found while staff were preparing to build a new frozen soil wall around the reactor. To put that in perspective, the average person is exposed to 3-6 millisieverts per year. This stuff is emitting several hundred thousand times more radiation than that.

Did Nero really fiddle carelessly while Rome burned, as some would suggest? Perhaps surprisingly to most, the answer to this question is no, as violins did not even exit at the time. But it was easy for his enemies to make such an aspersion due to his otherwise decadent and unpopular demeanor, so he was painted with this brush in some mainstream history books, which has been used widely as colloquialism to disparage those who show such behavior. Some have attributed this characterization to President Obama, the supposed leader of the free world (rich oligarchs actually run things), as he appears to favor golf and expensive trips to Hawaii at taxpayer expense as opposed to actually attempting to improve things for most in America. So unlike Nero, it would be hard to argue with such an assessment. In fact, it would not be difficult to portray the free world’s (heavy on the sarcasm) hapless leader as having actual disdain and contempt for Americans (Constitution, rule of law, etc.) – because growing numbers are on the endangered species list now anyway – where if you are not there yet –you will be. Truthstream received a message last week from Rep. Jonathan Stickland about his efforts to filibuster and delay this potentially dangerous transfer of power to none other than the Federal Reserve banking system.
Bill H.B. 2346 would grant commissioned officers of the Federal Reserve some of the powers given to sworn peace officers – including powers of arrest, search and seizure – in matters taking place on Federal Reserve property or, more broadly, in matters related to the Fed.
And that’s where the power could go unchecked. The extent of the influence and “business” of the Fed in the nation’s economy is far-reaching, if not all encompassing, indeed.

This report, which is titled “Revising U.S. Grand Strategy Toward China,” is introduced by Richard Haass, the CFR’s President, who affirms the report’s view that, “no relationship will matter more when it comes to defining the twenty-first century than the one between the United States and China.” He says that the report he is publishing argues that “strategic rivalry is highly likely if not inevitable between the existing major power of the day and the principal rising power.” Haass says that the authors “also argue that China has not evolved into the ‘responsible stakeholder’ that many in the United States hoped it would.” In other words: “cooperation” with China will probably need to become replaced by, as the report’s authors put it, “intense U.S.-China strategic competition.”

This story is not just about the threat to nearby states, or the implications to global relations. The search engine is free to submit to and free to use. It’s funded entirely by advertising that appears on the search results page.
Uniquely, this independent search engine either bans or flags (with a warning) all corporate propaganda and government disinfo websites. Just as Google flags search result URLs containing malicious code that can infect your computer, we will flag search result URLs containing malicious propaganda that can infect your mind.

If trade is a reflection of global demand, and if shipping rates are a reflection of the supply of ships by carriers and the demand for those ships by exporters to meet that global demand for goods – well then, we’ve got a situation on our hands.
Two weeks ago, when I wrote about the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), the index had fallen so far so fast that it seemed to be a statistical fluke, something that would instantly bounce back. The SCFI tracks the spot rates from Shanghai to various destinations around the world. At the time, the SCFI component for Northern Europe had plunged 14% from the prior week to $399 per twenty-foot container equivalent unit (TEU), down 67% from a year ago. An all-time low.

Gold and silver sold off on Friday, when much of the world was celebrating the May 1st Labor Day holiday. In particular, China – the country with the most voracious appetite for physical metal – was observing a national holiday.
So with buyers in many countries focusing on having a good time over a 3-day weekend, instead of opening their wallets to buy physical metal, it was relatively easy for the price-setting markets in the West to push the market lower, which was a point Andrew Maguire made in his KWN interview the other day.
But look what happened today, with London closed — celebrating its 3-day weekend. Both gold and silver took off to the upside. The reason is that with London closed, the natural sellers of physical metal were silent. These natural sellers are the mining companies that produce metal every day and bring it to the market to sell. So with London closed today, there was no new mine production coming into the market. But there was demand for physical metal in the rest of the world because those markets were open.
