When it comes to prepping and preparedness, the first steps that most people take are to acquire extra food (a variety thereof) to store or to deepen their pantry for a time of emergency (or worse).
A household that may have normally only kept enough food on hand to last about a week (probably the typical scenario for most Americans) may have decided to boost their food storage to several or three weeks of food to feed everyone there. This amount of food storage will certainly be plenty enough for nearly all ‘typical’ emergency scenarios that may tend to occur in our lives.
So, is that enough food storage?
Sure, if you believe that the probability of something worse than a 3-week disaster is so low – that’s it’s irrelevant…
However, consider this, even if the likelihood of a long-term food shortage scenario is very low, ‘what if’ it actually happened? Sometimes that ‘outlier’ event does happen. If it does, how will your household survive it?

How far would you go to eat?
The economic crisis in Venezuela, which has made food scarce, has become so sharp that many people are now being forced to turn on their pets in order survive.
The mounting cost of imported staple foods used to make dog and cat foods has proven to be prohibitive for many pet owners, who have trouble enough feeding themselves and their children and have been forced to release their pets to fend for themselves.
As a consequence, there has been a sharp increase in stray animals on roadsides and city areas, and along with them, people desperate enough to turn to these once-beloved companions as a source of food.

Unlike stocks, a housing bubble can only go so far.
After a wait of 417 calendar days, or 286 trading days, the S&P 500 finally set a new record high on light volume. Bonds have soared, and yields have dropped to ludicrous lows. The 10-year Treasury yield hit an all-time low on Friday of 1.366%. Globally, nearly $13 trillion, or 29% of total bonds outstanding, are trading with a negative yield. So those asset bubbles remain intact.
Commercial real estate has been soaring since March 2009, and that bubble remains intact, though some markets are already causing fear and trembling due to office-space gluts that are now coinciding with withering demand, such as in Houston and in San Francisco. Home prices too have been soaring for years, though in some major cities, the tide has turned.

Money is the barometer of a society’s virtue. When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.” – Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, Francisco’s Money Speech
Corruption in Money and Politics
Ayn Rand wrote Atlas Shrugged about 60 years ago. It seems like she’s describing today’s politics.
The Justice Department announced last week they won’t be prosecuting “crooked” Hillary Clinton. Rand never met Hillary or her husband Bill. But she clearly knew what it means for society when scoundrels wind up in charge.

It will be no surprise to readers to hear that collectivism is growing in the Western World. It matters little whether we refer to it as socialism, communism, Marxism, Fabianism, totalitarianism or any of its other names—the collectivist ideal is on the rise.
British Conservatives worry over the extreme collectivist speeches of the new Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, who is far more to the left than former leader Ed Miliband was, yet they often fail to notice that Tory leaders are also becoming more collectivist in their rhetoric. Certainly current Prime Minister David Cameron is further to the left than, say, Margaret Thatcher was, yet we Britons often fail to notice that both of the primary parties are moving further to the left.

It was only a matter of time before the Syrian military and Kurdish organizations butted heads in Syria over who controls specific territory in the north. Over the past few months and as both the Kurds and the SAA push forward against the ISIS and related Western-backed forces operating near the Turkish border, these confrontations have become increasingly frequent, requiring the help of outside negotiators to defuse the situation and implement a ceasefire.
For instance, as far back as April 20, a heavy firefight was ignited when Kurdish police (Asayish) would not stop at a Syrian border checkpoint in Qamlishi. The fight lasted three days, taking the lives of 10 Kurdish fighters and 22 SAA soldiers as well as 17 civilians. Many innocent lives lost and much time and equipment wasted that could have been spent on ISIS.
On April 22, the Russians were able to secure a ceasefire which was respected by both sides, despite remaining tensions. In Qamlishi, all joint Syrian-Kurdish roadblocks and checkpoints were dismantled as a result. Still, a prisoner swap was organized and taken advantage of almost immediately by both sides.

The number of homicides committed with a firearm in the United States in 2014 was 10,945, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s report on its final data on deaths in this county for that year, which was released on June 30.
The 10,945 firearm homicides in 2014 represented a 40-percent drop from the peak hit in 1993, when there were 18,253 firearm homicides in the country, according to CDC data.
The 10,945 firearm homicides in the United States in 2014 equaled a rate of 3.43 per 100,000 people in the population. That was the lowest firearm homicide rate the United States experienced in any of the 34 years from 1981 through 2014, according to data posted by the CDC on its “Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System” (WISQARS).

It’s Tuesday, on one of the rare “calm before the storm” days when headlines are thin – and manipulated markets thinner; when frankly, it makes more sense to slow things down than make them more complex. Yes, something dramatic, and market moving, could occur by the time I finish writing – but for now, I’m going to be a bit more “big picture,” and a bit less headline-specific; which is quite ironic, given that today’s principal topic refers to a single, ominous headline.

At the risk of sounding like Karl Marx, the super elite have simply been murdering protesters, around the world as the planet is falling under a de facto state of martial law.
The super elite are clearly not serving the needs of the people, they are serving their selfish desires to help themselves to the resources of the people. And when the people object, they are being summarily executed in increasing numbers.
Just the sheer number of instances and the brutality in which freedom-loving people are being eliminated can speak to nothing else but this is a coordinated effort between and among the super elite on the planet to kill protesters by placing snipers on the roof. Here are examples of where it is has been happening around the world. And soon it will be coming to America in the midst of our present civil unrest as this will be discussed in the latter part of the article with the passage of little known riot control methods as per the military, yes the military, not local law enforcement.
