"Given the surge back towards the all-time highs in the S&P 500, we think that the best might be over for US equities and that indices might range trade more in 2016. We have downgraded US equities to neutral. This takes our overall equity weighting down to neutral, in many respects an extension of what we’ve been doing for most of this year as richer and richer asset markets, against a global background of economic risks, have made us more cautious."

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/03/2015 - 12:10 It was just a few weeks ago that the International Monetary Fund predicted that Saudi Arabia would likely be bankrupt within the next five years. Saudi Arabia’s financial position is deteriorating rapidly, and the government is burning through cash like a coked-up rock star. The Saudis followed this up with plans now to build the world’s tallest skyscraper, which would stand a full kilometer in height. Seriously, what are these people thinking? What kind of idiot goes out of his way to blow through cash when he’s rapidly going broke? Why, the United States of America of course.DAX Crashes Most Since Black Monday - Erases Paris Attack Gains

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/03/2015 - 11:02 The gap between real house prices and real earnings is even wider than it was in Housing Bubble 1. History (and common sense) suggest that housing prices will once again fall sharply until the black line of house prices is well below the red line of real earnings. To expect anything different is unrealistic and highly dangerous to one's financial well-being.Venezuelans head to the polls this Sunday for parliamentary elections and it’s expected to be one of the closest votes in the country’s history. The country’s dealing with several serious economic challenges. Recently the Obama administration approved the deployment of more special operators to the Middle East, ostensibly to engage ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria. This “specialized expeditionary targeting force” will help Iraqi and Kurdish forces in the region, and will eventually “conduct raids, free hostages, gather intelligence, and capture ISIL leaders” according to Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, who spoke to the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday.
Carter cited the recent special forces raid that rescued several ISIS prisoners as the perfect example for why we need a small standing force in the region that can strike anywhere, and anytime. Of course, our military has probably been fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria for a long time. Not to defeat them though. They just want to contain ISIS while these radicals fight Assad, but that’s a story for another day.

TND Editor’s Note: I recall listening to the live broadcast of the very first episode of Guns & Butter early last decade. At the time, only a small number of radio journalists dared to address the complex, controversial subjects Bonnie Faulkner fearlessly examined. Now, Guns & Butter is ported to SoundCloud and the show has an outstanding website and blog. The show has had a following of tens of thousands of people, largely the product of direct broadcast on KPFA. Guns & Butter deserves a following into the millions. Help make that happen. Spread the word about the show. TND will continue to play our small part with our periodic “Podcast Spotlight” features. — Eric Dubin, Managing Editor, The News Doctors

Few polarizing subjects are more hotly debated than gun control. Usually lost in the fray of emotional diatribes to ban guns, are the historic empirical foundations of our forefathers who fought a revolution to escape from imperial tyranny. The true reality in today’s AmeriKa is that individual liberty is the most despised activity that any citizen can exert in their lives. Both the popular state worship culture and the authoritarian hoodlums that run the government are so fearful of armed independent citizens, that they are eager to burn the Bill of Rights. Face it, the government is committed to force you to be a ward of the state and will kill you if you resist.
