A Fun List of Ways to be Killed By the Cops

from The Burning Platform:
[A]n unfortunately large number of people who are fully convinced that police brutality and police state America are solely black community issues and white people should mind their own business because these things don’t affect them. Then of course there’s this other large group of people, the “cops are just doing their jobs” and “being a cop is so stressful” and “there isn’t actually a problem, it’s being blown out of proportion” people. I wanted to do something for both these groups of people, to help them see reality, to help them see the absurdity of their positions, and to reinforce my previous post. Both groups are doing harm to a cause that is ultimately going to decide whether future America will be a free country or not. They need to get back in touch with reality. So, without further adieu, I give you my list…

How Vulnerable Is America to Mass Starvation?

by Dave Hodges, The Common Sense Show:
An estimated seven million people starved to death during the Great Depression. And amazingly, these people had food preparation skills that are basically a lost art in America today (e.g. canning).
With a staggering debt looming over the country, how vulnerable are Americans to starvation if and when an economic collapse takes down our economy?
It is not a secret that the world is in a desperate situation when it comes to overall world hunger. The World Bank cites the disturbing fact that there have been 51 food riots in 37 countries in recent memory due to high food prices and the further escalation of food prices has no end in sight. The World Bank further speculates that the present state of food prices could lead to political instability and this is the kind of stuff that wars are made of. And what is the number one cause of rising food prices according to the World Bank? It is the increasing demand (see attached PDF)  for food from a growing population inside of China. The future military implications should be self-evident. But what about the United States? How vulnerable are Americans to the possibility of mass starvation?

US Armed Rebels Gave TOW Missiles To Al Qaeda

by Jeffrey Tucker, The News Doctors:
US supplied TOW anti-tank missiles have ended up in the hands of Jabhat Al Nusra, Syria’s branch of Al Qaeda. The US provided the missiles to CIA vetted Syrian rebel faction Harakat Hazm in May. A video posted by Al Nusra shows the weapons being used to take over Syrian military bases, Wadi Deif and Hamidiyeh in Idlib province.
A story that should have been headline news of Obama’s arming of Al Qaeda across all US media, largely went unnoticed. The only evidence of the story in the mainstream media can be found in the International Business times and the Washington Post. However both articles try to cast doubt on the claims that Al Nusra has TOW missiles, choosing to quote the Syrian Opposition Council spokesman Oubai Shahbandar who downplayed the incident, calling it an “Al Nusra psyop”. The New York Times did not headline the story and instead buried the information in an article headlined “2 Military bases in Syria Fall to Rebels”. However, The New York Times claimed the TOW missiles may have plaid a central role in Jabhat AL Nusra’s takeover of the bases.

NWO GANGSTA STYLE: Greek Prime Minister – “It’s Best For The Country” To Do Away With Democracy

from ZeroHedge:
During a state-TV “interview” which many are dubbing pure fear-mongering propaganda ahead of Monday’s final ‘vote of confidence’, Greek Prime Minister Samaras unleashes his most assanine M.A.D. comments yet. “It’s not a question of what’s good for me or New Democracy. It’s best for the country that there are not snap elections.”  Translation: you don’t need no stinking democracy, trust us – your benevolent rulers – to do what’s best for the Greek people (and by Greek people, he means ‘unelected European bureaucrats’).

“BRICS most important element of global governance”

from The BRICS Post:
Moscow has prioritised “efforts to transform the BRICS into one of the most important elements of the system of global governance” as part of a major foreign policy impetus, said the Russian Foreign ministry on Saturday.
“Crucial progress towards this goal has been made during the Fortaleza Summit (July 15-16)- the decision to establish a multilateral framework of the association of financial institutions – a New Development Bank and a contingent of foreign exchange reserves with a total resource of $200 billion,” said a Russian Foreign Ministry statement on Saturday outlining the major foreign policy events in 2014.

Magic Growth Numbers

by Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, Paul Craig Roberts:
Everyone wants good news, so the government makes it up. The latest fiction is that US real GDP grew 4.6% in the second quarter and 5% in the third.
Where did this growth come from?
The growth came from a Bureau of Economic Analysis survey of consumer spending on services. The BEA found that spending on Obamacare drove the US real GDP growth to 5% in the third quarter. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-12-23/here-reason-surge-q3-gdp
In America, unlike in other countries, a huge chunk of medical spending goes to insurance company profits, not to health care. Another big chunk goes to paperwork, which has a variety of purposes such as collecting personal information on patients and combating fraud (probably the paperwork costs more than fraud).

Jim Rogers Own Real Assets In An Age Of Inflation

Sound Money and the Ring of Truth

from Gold Seek:
We Americans no longer carry gold and silver money in our pockets and purses as our grandparents did during their lives. But we still carry the history, legacy and spirit of those gold and silver coins in our language – with more meaning than you might imagine.
“Sound money” has a clear message recognized for centuries around the world. It describes the musical, metallic ring of a gold, silver, or copper coin dropped on any hard surface of glass, stone, wood, or metal. Sound money literally refers to real wealth, with a natural, unmistakable signature of honesty and integrity, as opposed to the swishy paper and plastic debt used almost exclusively today.

92.4 million Americans not in the labor force

The continuing trend of one-third of Americans supporting the other two-thirds.
from MyBudget360.com:

92.4 million Americans are considered to be “not in the labor force” officially.  This number is incredibly high and is a large factor for the drop in the employment participation rate.  While many older Americans are winging it when it comes to retirement, one-third of the private workforce is supporting two-thirds of the population.  Part of the reason we have so many Americans in the not in the labor force category is partly due to the aging of the country but that only accounts for one portion of the change.  A large portion also comes from the unusual jumps in the disability category, a large number going back to high cost college, and many simply dropping out of the market completely.  The rate of increase in each of these categories is growing much faster than the rate of growth in the population suggesting something else is going on.  The unemployment rate on the surface looks to be much healthier than it is because you are removing millions of Americans from being counted.
