For nearly two decades alternative media has warned of government internment camps
where citizens would be disappeared, detained and tortured with no
regard for their rights. For nearly two decades the notion has been
dismissed by the general population as just another conspiracy theory.

Fearing a “Grexit” — a Greek exit from the European Union over
differences regarding conditions surrounding a 2012 Eurozone bailout of
the fabled nation — scores of Greek depositors have begun taking money
from banks and running.
As reported by CNBC, the run on banks comes amid a “dramatic showdown in Brussels” between the newly elected left-wing Greek government and European creditors. Depositors are being spooked by the thought of a potential Greek default or worse, a pull-out from the EU and a return to the drachma, Greece’s former currency. The depositors are pulling out record amounts of cash. As reported by CNBC:
The Bank of Greece and the European Central Bank won’t report official cash outflows for January until the end of the month. But sources in the Greek banking sector have told Greek newspapers that as much as 25 billion euros (US $28.4 billion) have left Greek banks since the end of December.

The Chicago police department operates an off-the-books interrogation compound, rendering Americans unable to be found by family or attorneys while locked inside what lawyers say is the domestic equivalent of a CIA black site.Read More @ SHTFPlan.com

“The
Fourth Amendment was designed to stand between us and arbitrary
governmental authority. For all practical purposes, that shield has been
shattered, leaving our liberty and personal integrity subject to the
whim of every cop on the beat, trooper on the highway and jail official.
The framers would be appalled.”—Herman Schwartz, The Nation
Our freedoms—especially the Fourth Amendment—are being choked out by a prevailing view among government bureaucrats that they have the right to search, seize, strip, scan, spy on, probe, pat down, taser, and arrest any individual at any time and for the slightest provocation.
Forced cavity searches, forced colonoscopies, forced blood draws, forced breath-alcohol tests, forced DNA extractions, forced eye scans, forced inclusion in biometric databases—these are just a few ways in which Americans are being forced to accept that we have no control over what happens to our bodies during an encounter with government officials.

Last summer my band played a Fourth of July gig at an outdoor festival
in a well-heeled suburb of Atlanta. The lawn in front of us was filled
with parents on picnic blankets and little kids running to and fro. The
street was filled with noisy but well-behaved revelers, enjoying the
rare legal opportunity to drink locally-brewed beer in public. Fireworks
filled the dusk sky.
Everyone was happy.
Everyone that is, except for the company-sized contingent of heavily-armed black-clad militarized police, complete with an armored assault vehicle and automatic weapons, which surrounded the event. Especially the guy who threatened me with arrest for backing my car up to the stage without awaiting orders.

If a poll put out by Pew Research
can be believed, a majority of Americans approve of the ISIS war and a
narrow majority want ground troops sent to Iraq and Syria.
Due primarily to a ceaseless stream of horrific propaganda, 63% of Americans approve of airstrikes against ISIS positions while 30% disapprove.
“The possibility of sending U.S. ground troops to the region is more divisive, although the idea draws more support than it did four months ago. Currently, about as many favor (47%) as oppose (49%) sending U.S. ground troops to fight Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria; in October, 39% favored the idea and 55% opposed it,” Pew Research reports.

Is This The Most Important Chart For The Future Of The World's Reserve Currency?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 19:30 The one chart which, both literally and metaphorically, will determine how much longer the USD will reign as the world's reserve, is the following.
This Is What Happens To Gold In A Hyperinflationary Currency Crisis: Ukraine Edition
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 13:22 As Ukraine's socio-economic situation goes from wost to worst-er, today's announcement by President Poroshenko that the government will take actions to stabilize the currency (which as we previously noted, appears to be heading for hyperinflation) has Ukrainians rushing for the exits into precious metals... with only one goal in mind - wealth preservation.
Ukraine Enters The Endgame
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 17:30 Back in March 2014 we forecast that it in the aftermath of the US State Department-sponsored military coup in Kiev, it was only a matter of time before Ukraine (all of its sovereign gold having since "vaporized") succumbed to full blown hyperinflation and economic implosion. Less than a year later, precisely this outcome has finally played out, and as a result, the entire nation has finally entered its economic endgame, one which has two conclusion: either it joins Greece in becoming a ward of Europe (of which it is not an official member) and the IMF (thank you Joe Q Public taxpayer), or it quietly fades away into insolvent "failed state" status.

Janet Yellen is very alarmed that some members of Congress want to
conduct a comprehensive audit of the Federal Reserve for the first time
since it was created. If the Fed is doing everything correctly, why
should Yellen be alarmed? What does she have to hide? During testimony
before Congress on Tuesday, she made “central bank independence” sound
like it was the holy grail. Even though every other government function
is debated politically in this country, Yellen insists that what the
Federal Reserve does is “too important” to be influenced by the American
people. Does any other government agency ever dare to make that
claim? But of course the Federal Reserve is not a government agency.
It is a private banking cartel that has far more power over our money
and our economy than anyone else does. And later on in this article I
am going to share with you dozens of reasons why Congress should shut it
down.
The immense power wielded by the Federal Reserve is clearly demonstrated whenever Janet Yellen speaks publicly. On Tuesday, her comments about interest rates sent stocks to brand new record highs…

In case you had not noticed, we live in a crazy upside down sort of world. We could go into the social aspect of this but it would only make our collective blood pressures go up. The same thing goes for politics, religion and let’s not forget an entire industry that used to pride itself on digging for the truth, the media. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING “is” really as it seems today. Everything is spun, everything is either glossed over or not even discussed (reported on) and nothing is real anymore. Somehow, I think Goebbels is blushing in his grave and Orwell kicking himself for not being outrageous enough when he wrote 1984.
Now would be a good time to revisit something we’ve looked at many times before, namely which is the better deal? Is one ounce of gold better than 1,200 one dollar bills? Or euros, yen, pounds or what have you? The reason this has come to my mind in this fashion is because our world of fiat money now has negative interest rates for about 15% of all sovereign debt (and growing quickly). Zerohedge just released an article talking about 20 central banks already in this new year cutting their interest rates.

In what I’d consider a tactically-influenced move, mega-food corporation Nestle has recently announced that it would phase out artificial flavors and colors from some of its candy bars by 2015.
This move will make many consumers happy as it seemingly hits a note of
health-consciousness, but a company who wants to control the world’s
water supply probably isn’t driven by consumer’s desires.
Similar to Hershey’s recent announcement of removing GMO ingredients from its candy and moving toward ‘simple ingredients,’ Nestle has publicly said it would be removing ingredients such as Red 40, Yellow 5, and artificial vanillin from all of its chocolate candy brands in the U.S. — more than 250 products.

Business Insider’s Myles Udland just posted a chart, drawn from
research by the Bank of England, showing interest rates for the past
3,000 years. And for all those who’ve been feeling like today’s “new
normal” is actually profoundly abnormal, here’s your proof. It turns out
that interest rates, both long and short-term, are lower than they’ve
ever been. Not lower than in this cycle, or post-war or in the past
century, but ever, going back to the earliest days of markets.

And they’re still falling in most of the world. Central banks are cutting rates on a daily basis (Turkey
was today’s announcement), in some cases to less than zero. Something
like $2 trillion of sovereign and corporate debt now trades with
negative yields.

The fat cats in Washington D.C. are living the high life, and they are
doing it at your expense. Over the past decade, there has been one
area of the country which has experienced a massive economic boom.
Thanks to wildly out of control government spending,
the Washington D.C. region is absolutely swimming in cash. In fact, at
this point the state of Maryland has the most millionaires per capita
in the entire nation and it isn’t even close. If you have never lived
there, it is hard to describe what the D.C. area is like. Every weekday
morning, hordes of lawyers, lobbyists and government bureaucrats
descend upon D.C. from the surrounding suburbs. And at the end of the
day, the process goes in reverse. Everyone is just trying to get their
piece of the pie, and it is a pie that just keeps on growing as
government salaries, government contracts and government giveaways just
get larger and larger. Of course our founders never intended for this
to happen. They wanted a very small and simple federal government.
Sadly, today we have the most bloated central government in the history
of the planet and it gets worse with each passing year.

Caught On Tape: Florida Parents Treated Like Children For Questioning School Curriculum
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 22:30 "While some called us book-burning Nazis, Page 274 of “Civics in Practice” states, “Citizens must be alert to propaganda” and glittering generalities is a “type of propaganda which often uses words such as freedom and patriotism.” This world government indoctrination is augmented on Page 425, where a geographical map of North America eliminates the United States, and places our great nation in nine new “cultural nations.” For pointing this out, one public speaker at the School Board textbook workshop called us “narrow-minded, racist Bible-thumpers.”"
TEPCO Admits Delaying Report Of Major Radiation Leak Into The Pacific Ocean For 10 Months
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 22:00 While faith in Japanese 'economics' is starting to falter (borne out by the split in the BoJ and endless macro data disappointments), trust in TEPCO and its governmental operators must be about to hit a new record low. Having promised and given up on the ice-wall strategy to stop radioactive water leaking into the ocean, Bloomberg reports TEPCO officials have admitted that it’s investigating the cause of a spike in radiation levels (23,000 becquerels/liter vs the legal limit of 90) in drainage water that it believes subsequently leaked into the Pacific ocean from the wrecked Fukushima nuclear power plant. The bigger problem, as NBC reports, TEPCO failed to report the leak for 10 months!
Brazil Consumer Confidence Collapses To Lowest. Ever.
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 21:00 It appears all the emerging/emerged economies of the world that are supposed to be the dynamic growth engines to lead the world to escape velocity are, well, not. Perhaps no better example is Brazil where hyper-growth expectations have disappeared into a black hole as business and consumer confidence collapsed this week to historical lows. As Goldman noted, "This poses major headwinds for private consumption and overall activity in the coming months."
Visualizing Who Controls The World's Silver Supply?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 20:30 Within the Earth’s crust, there is 1 gram of silver for every 12.5 tonnes of earth (27,600 lbs). This makes silver very difficult to find. The total amount of silver mined in global history is enough to create a 52m cube. So who controls that supply?
Iran Televises Major Naval Drill Against Fake US Aircraft Carrier In Persian Gulf
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 20:09 Amid the to-ing and fro-ing of John Kerry and the nuclear program negotiations, it seemed quite ironic that Iran would unleash a major naval drill near the strategically vital entrance of the Persian Gulf. As AP reports, more than a dozen swarming Iranian speedboats assaulted a replica of a U.S. aircraft carrier, as the Guard's navy chief, Adm. Ali Fadavi, who last month boasted that his force is capable of sinking American aircraft carriers in the event of war, said on state television, "American aircraft carriers are very big ammunition depots housing a lot of missiles, rockets, torpedoes and everything else."
After 75 Years, Hitler's "Mein Kampf" Will Be Re-Printed In Germany
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/25/2015 - 19:00 Times, they are a'changing. For the first time in 75 years, according to multiple reports, CBS News reports, a new edition of Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" will be bound for sale in bookstores in Germany. While the book, long known as "the Nazi bible," is widely available in the U.S. and much of the English-speaking world, it was for years banned from being reprinted in Germany over fears it would reignite the passions that plunged the country into World War II. Still, amid rising anti-semitism across Europe and a surge in nationalism, the timing is odd and as the head of Munich's Jewish community exclaimed, "this book is most evil."
