How can it be? Services PMI was at 6-month highs. The Kansas City Fed Index tumbled to -4 in March (against expectations of +1) and was last below this level in Feb 2013. KC Fed has now missed for 6 of the last 8 months and the report is a disaster across the board. New orders plunged to -20 (2nd lowest print since Lehman), order backlogs imploded, average workweek collapsed to -17 (lowest since Lehman), and future capex expectations fell to a five-year low. As one respondent noted, "we do not see the economy as being as strong as a portrayed in the national media reports."

Yemen Ground Invasion By Saudi, Egyptian Troops Imminent
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/26/2015 - 12:39 Moments ago AP reported that Egyptian military and security officials told The Associated Press that the military intervention will go further, with a ground assault into Yemen by Egyptian, Saudi and other forces, planned once airstrikes have weakened the capabilities of the rebels. "The assault will be by ground from Saudi Arabia and by landings on Yemen's Red and Arabian Sea coasts. The aim is not to occupy Yemen but to weaken the Houthis and their allies until they enter negotiations for power-sharing, the officials said."
Germanwings Co-Pilot "Deliberately Destroyed" Airplane, Identified As 28-Year Old German Citizen
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/26/2015 - 08:20 In one of the most chilling segments of this morning's press conference describing what was found on the cockpit voice recorder, screams were heard from passengers and crew as the realisation of what was about to happen struck them all. Prosecutor Brice Robin's findings state that when the German Captain left the cockpit - following what appeared to be - the 28-year-old German co-pilot (who was alive to the end) refused to re-open the door and began an "intentional", "controlled", and "steady" descent as he "seems to have sought to destroy the plane." Nothing indicates that this was a terrorist incident.
Hewson replied that “that really isn’t coming up,” but stressed that “volatility all around the region” should continue to bring in new business. According to Hewson, “A lot of volatility, a lot of instability, a lot of things that are happening” in both the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region means both are “growth areas” for Lockheed Martin.

Another Middle East War Breaks Out: Saudis Begin Bombing Yemen, US Military Taking Action
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/25/2015 - 23:53 Update: *OBAMA AUTHORIZED LOGISTICAL AND INTELLIGENCE SUPPORT TO GULF, U.S. MILITARY TAKING MILITARY ACTION TO DEFEND SAUDI BORDER, TO DEFEND AGAINST HOUTHI VIOLENCE (so US weapons are being used on both sides)John McCain - "This is as bizarre as it is misguided – another tragic case of leading from behind.”
Earlier today we reported that, on very short notice, Saudi Arabia had moved heavy military equipment including artillery to areas near its border with Yemen, "raising the risk that the Middle East’s top oil power will be drawn into the worsening Yemeni conflict." In other words, Saudi Arabia was preparing for war. Moments ago all these warnings were borne out when Al-Arabiya reported that the latest middle-east war is now official after Saudi Arabia and Arab Gulf States had launched a bombing campaign against Yemen.

Middle East Proxy War: Presenting The Massive "Decisive Storm" Coalition
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/26/2015 - 09:08 On one side of the latest proxy war in the Middle East are Yemen's Shiite Houthi rebel forces and their prominent backer, Iran. On the other side are the Suuni states led by Saudi Arabia and henceforth dubbed as the "Decisive Storm" coalition. Here they are.
Bonds & Crude Dump, The Dollar & Stocks Jump As Top Houthi Leaders Reportedly Killed
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/26/2015 - 08:56 After overnight strength in oil (post-Yemen) and bonds and gold (and weakness in stocks), the last few minutes have seen some of this reverse as chatter crosses the wire of the death of top Houthi leadership in Yemen. Oil prices are tumbling, the dollar is surging, and bond yields are spiking. Stocks are starting to creep off the lows...
Initial Jobless Claims Drop Back Below Dreaded "300k" Level
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/26/2015 - 08:37 After last week's initial jobless claims drop - which nevertheless held the 4-wk average above 300k - this week saw the number drop once more. Against expectations of 290k, claims printed 282k, leaving the 4-week average at 297k, conveniently below the 300k mark. This means that since the end of QE3, initial jobless claims are unchanged as the trend of improvement has clearly stalled.
Futures Tumble As Yemen War Starts; Oil, Gold Surges
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/26/2015 - 07:18 In a somewhat surprising turn of events, this morning's futures reaction to last night's shocking start of a completely unexpected Yemen proxy war, which has seen an alliance of Gulf State launch an air, and soon land, war against Yemen's Houthi rebels, is what one would expect: down, and down big. This is surprising, because on previous occasions one would expect the NY Fed, or its pet hedge fund, Citadel, or the BOJ or ECB (via the CME's "Central Bank Incentive Program") to aggressively buy ES to prevent a slide, something has changed, and for the BTFDers, that something may be very fatal with the e-Mini rapidly approaching a 1-handle yet again. The offset to tumbling stocks, as previously observed, is oil, with WTI soaring over 6% in a delayed algo response to the Qatar headlines.
33 Strange Facts About America That Most Americans Would Be Shocked To Learn
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/25/2015 - 23:30 Did you know that about one-fourth of the entire global prison population is in the United States? Did you know that Apple has more money than the U.S. Treasury? Did you know that if you have no debt and also have 10 dollars in your wallet that you are wealthier than 25 percent of all Americans? Did you know that by the time an American child reaches the age of 18, that child will have seen approximately 40,000 murders on television? There are some things that are great about the United States, and there are definitely some things that are not so great. Once upon a time we were the most loved and most respected nation on the entire planet, but those days are long gone.
There’s alot of wisdom in the old phrase, “Don’t go burning bridges!”, isn’t there?
Life, after all, is made richer and simpler by good, old-fashioned human interaction! Those who go about their lives, building bridges, and finding solutions and common ground, will be truly blessed. It’s not hard to see why, either.

Since the depths of the last recession, the price of ground beef in the United States has doubled.
Has your paycheck doubled since then? Even though the Federal Reserve
insists that we are in a “low inflation” environment, the government’s
own numbers show that the price of ground beef has been on an
unprecedented run over the past six years. In early 2009, the average
price of a pound of ground beef was hovering near 2 dollars. In
February, it hit a brand new all-time record high of $4.238 per pound.
Even just 12 months ago, the price of ground beef was sitting at $3.555
per pound. So we are talking about a huge increase. And this hits
American families where they really live. Each year, the average
American consumes approximately 270 pounds of meat.
The only nation in the world that eats more meat than we do is
Luxembourg. If the paychecks of American workers were going up fast
enough to deal with this increase, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal.
But of course that is not happening. In an article just last week, I
showed that real median household income is a couple thousand dollars lower
now than it was during the depths of the last recession. The middle
class is being squeezed, and we are rapidly getting to the point where
burgers are going to be considered a “luxury” item.

Precious few Americans are aware that Western media is lying up a
propaganda storm about Russia and Putin on par with some of the greatest
and most pervasive propaganda efforts in history. But if you think the
media is bad, academia is worse. Self-censorship and not wishing to

all that surprising that America’s foreign policy establishment remains
largely clueless about the conflict in the Ukraine.
Today and tomorrow, an important US-Russia forum will be held in Washington, D.C. Events like this help break some of the ice in the academic community, and will hopefully move the insular, ignorant American establishment in the direction of a fact-based, reasoned assessment of genuine Russia security interests and the reality of American and NATO aggression towards Russia.

Young human beings need to trust and pay attention to their parents,
just like young mammals do in the animal kingdom. Our lives can depend
on doing that. But most of us are trained from a young age to trust not
just our parents but also authority figures of all kinds and to believe
what they tell us is true. That system works fine as long as the
authority figures in our lives are benevolent and honest. But what
happens if those authority figures become corrupt or degenerate into
violent criminals? The answer is evident throughout our current society.
That very trust that kept us safe as small children (assuming we had
good parents) has now become the means of our destruction.

In recent months, Facebook has been quietly holding talks with at least
half a dozen media companies about hosting their content inside
Facebook rather than making users tap a link to go to an external site.
The new proposal by Facebook carries another risk for publishers: the loss of valuable consumer data. When readers click on an article, an array of tracking tools allow the host site to collect valuable information on who they are, how often they visit and what else they have done on the web.
And if Facebook pushes beyond the experimental stage and makes content hosted on the site commonplace, those who do not participate in the program could lose substantial traffic — a factor that has played into the thinking of some publishers. Their articles might load more slowly than their competitors’, and over time readers might avoid those sites.

Now it’s Austria, Switzerland, and Australia that have joined dozens of other countries around the world in the anti-dollar alliance.
These nations, which also include most US ‘allies’ in Western Europe like Germany, France and the UK, have all signed on to be founding members of China’s new Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The AIIB is the biggest disruption to the global monetary system since the end of World War II.
For decades, global finance has been completely dominated by the United States… and the US dollar.
This is the reason why a transaction for oil between Bangladesh and Brazil will close and settle in US dollars. It’s why a French aircraft manufacturer will sell its jets to European airlines… not in euros, but in US dollars. It’s why a contract for aluminium traded in London will clear in US dollars.

Things
have been getting very interesting on a number of fronts recently.
Last week’s FOMC meeting, which I always take with a grain of salt, was
fascinating because I think the Fed was finally forced to face economic
reality and essentially acknowledge that their prior optimism on the
U.S. economy was misplaced. I believe that things are materially worse
than the Fed is admitting at this point.
Rate Hike Would Be Catastrophic
But the one obvious takeaway from the whole exercise last week is that the ongoing mantra of an imminent rate hike has been exposed to be more propaganda. With a fading economy, strong dollar, ballooning debt and recent overall weakness in the price of commodities, a rate hike would absolutely catastrophic.

Cornell University welcomes ISIS terrorists to come to its campus and
conduct terror “training camps” for students, admits the university’s
assistant dean Joseph Scaffido in an undercover sting video filmed by Project Veritas. But the university absolutely does not allow unvaccinated students to be present on campus, according to its public health requirements web page.
At Cornell University, in other words, terrorists are welcomed, but only if they are fully vaccinated first. Meanwhile, healthy, unvaccinated children are banned from the campus because they might pose a “danger” to public health, we’re told.
Cornell University’s “tolerance” policies extend to terrorist groups that target innocent civilians for mass death campaigns using explosive devices, but they do not extend to healthy children of parents who choose to avoid exposing their children to the toxic substances still used in vaccines in America: Mercury, aluminum, MSG, formaldehyde, human fetal tissue and superbug-producing antibiotics.

While most individuals assume that both historical and future events
arise as a result of a series of massive and seismic actions, the truth
is often that a whimper precedes the bang. While many events are indeed
sparked by a single definitive act, it is also true that, in the events
leading up to the defining moment, rarely does the general public
realize that they are walking along the path to such an event. Even
rarer is the individual who realizes that this path was already carved
out by high-level players in the halls of banks, corporations,
governments, and secret societies long before the destination is ever
reached.
For instance, most scholars present the events leading up to World War I as an immediate reaction to the assassination of Franz Ferdinand by a shadowy semi-secret society that was not fundamentally connected to any other secret establishment. The truth, however, is that not only was the Black Hand a part of a Revolutionary Freemasonic structure and the war itself a carefully orchestrated plot that involved the personal attention and assembly of King Edward VII as well as British and French Freemasonic Lodges, but it was not solely a reaction to the assassination of Ferdinand.
