I have never done anything like this before. Ever since I started The
Economic Collapse Blog in late 2009, I have never issued any kind of
“red alert” for any specific period of time. As an attorney, I was
trained to be level-headed and to only come to conclusions that were
warranted by the evidence. So this is not something that I am doing
lightly. Based on information that I have received, things that I have
been told, and thousands of hours of research that have gone into the
publication of more than 1,300 articles about our ongoing economic
collapse, I have come to the conclusion that a major financial collapse
is imminent. Therefore, I am issuing a RED ALERT for the last six months
of 2015.
To clarify, when I say “imminent” I do not mean that it will happen within the next 48 hours. And I am not saying that our problems will be “over” once we get to the end of 2015. In fact, I believe that the truth is that our problems will only be just beginning as we enter 2016.
What I am attempting to communicate is that we are right at the door of a major turning point. About this time of the year back in 2008, my wife and I went to visit her parents. As we sat in their living room, I explained to them that we were on the verge of a major financial crisis, and of course the events that happened a few months later showed that I was right on the money.

The Pentagon announced Monday that it has begun paying “moderate”
Syrian rebels up to $400 per month to fight ISIS and eventually the
Syrian government. The program, deemed “critical” by Secretary of
Defense Ashton Carter, aims to equip as many as 5,400 fighters within
the next 12 months, reports USA Today.
According to Pentagon spokeswoman Elissa Smith, roughly 6,000 Syrians have already expressed interest in the program, with more than half preparing to be vetted. The program has reportedly taken months to move forward due to a lack of fighters willing to “adhere to laws of war and pledge to conduct themselves properly.”
The announcement raises several red flags given recently declassified Pentagon documents confirming Western governments’ regional support of al-Qaeda, a terrorist organization now deceptively labeled “moderate.”

According to newly released documents published by The Intercept,
a special unit with the British spy agency is involved in
psychological operations, or PsyOps, and propaganda campaigns against
groups it labels “extremist.”The documents are the latest from the trove released by whistleblower Edward Snowden. The new documents show that the British Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) operates an elite unit known as the Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group (JTRIG). First revealed last year, JTRIG is known for using sexual “honey traps” to discredit targets, using denial-of-service attacks to shut down Internet chat rooms, and generally pushing propaganda on social media.
Despite official claims that JTRIG is focused on international targets in Iran or Afghanistan, the latest information reveals that the unit was focusing on domestic activity within the U.K.—activity typically monitored by local police or domestic law enforcement agencies.

author Brad Meltzer came across an interesting fact at Secret Service
headquarters: Ronald Reagan “carried his own gun” with him while
president.
Meltzer was not able to determine if Reagan carried the gun from day one of his presidency, or if he began carrying after the failed March 30, 1981, attempt on his life.
According to the Daily Mail, Meltzer was in Secret Service headquarters looking at “the actual car door from the limousine where Reagan was shot.” He described the door as an “eerie keepsake,” but said it was nothing to compare to the surprise he received when an agent told him Reagan “carried his own gun.”
