Dear Bureau of Labor Statistics: please pay careful attention to this case study of how your CPI "inflation" gauge, hedonically, seasonally-adjusted or otherwise, is completely inaccurate, and how what you record as 0% inflation is really 72%!
The GOP's Nightmare Is Coming True: With Jeb Out Of Cash, Insiders Say Trump Nomination Almost Certain“I think he's now mounting a serious campaign,” a South Carolina Republican said. “His stump speech had matured and even though the novelty of his candidacy is wearing off, his straight talk is appealing to people who are so sick of being lied to by the political class.”
birth-rate at record-lows and death-rate at record-highs, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe unveiled a new set of 'arrows' a few weeks ago to 'fix' the demographic disaster the nation faces. At the time, Abe was long of "bold proposals" but short of actual policies to encourage the nation to make more babies (despite dwindling interest in sex). As Bloomberg reports, here are a number of options that Abe's new minister for demographics Kato could introduce to slow the downward spiral of population...
As Bloomberg reports, sales of luxury homes in the are have tumbled 16% YoY in Q3, prices have plunged 18% YoY, and inventories are surging (up 34%). The reason is simple, as one realtor notes, "the international buyer has been absent."
Weather Underground's Jeff Masters sums up Hurricane Patricia, which intensified to an incredible-strength Category 5 storm with 200 mph winds overnight as it approaches the Mexican coast. As The NY Times reports, The World Meteorological Organization warned that the hurricane’s strength was comparable to that of Typhoon Haiyan, which caused devastation in the Philippines in 2013, and so Mexico has declared a state of emergency for Puerto Vallarta (with officials warning that storm surges could cause waves of up to 39 feet) as she is forecast to hit the coast between 6 and 10pm ET. Hurricane Patricia is "uncharted territory."

Hillary Clinton said Thursday she did not have a computer in her office while secretary of state, and when a State Department spokesman was asked whether that was unusual, replied that “email’s a relatively new beast.”
During the department’s daily briefing, a reporter noted that Clinton told the House Committee on Benghazi that she did not have a computer in her office at the State Department.
“Is that an unusual thing, for the secretary to not have a computer within their office at the State Department?” she asked spokesman Mark Toner.
“It’s – I mean, unusual – I mean, look. I mean, we’ve only had – email’s a relatively new beast, shall we say, and – or a new creation,” Toner replied.

saying on Oct. 8 that U.S. warships "should not provoke significant reaction from the Chinese") and a stunned China responding "What On Earth Makes Them Think We Will Tolerate This", the last thing we thought we would see right now was three Chinese warships about to port in Florida's Naval Station Mayport. And yet according to USNI that is precisely what is about to happen.
CNN reported that the US Department of "Justice" is closing its two-year investigation into whether the IRS improperly targeted tea party and other conservative groups. There will be no charges against former IRS official Lois Lerner or anyone else at the agency, the Justice Department said in a letter.

Gold has shown strength in the last couple of weeks – though inflation isn’t the only catalyst. There’s another factor, namely a bizarre new proposal from Bank of England Chief Economist Andy Haldane that’s catching on with Fed governors and frustrated central bankers worldwide. You see, if Haldane gets his way, gold may not just be a store of value – it may be the only one left … Everybody would have bank accounts, and all payments, no matter the size, would be undertaken with debit or credit cards (which could themselves be loaded with value at an ATM). Once everything is electronic, the zero lower bound could be eliminated, and central bankers could set the short-term interest rate at minus 5% if they so desired. No wonder the gold buyers are quietly accumulating. – Wall Street Daily
Dominant Social Theme: Gold and silver are remnants of a bygone era.
Free-Market Analysis: This article provides us with an interesting speculation on how central bankers intend to get out of the fix of zero-bound rates. Also, why gold has climbed some eight percent since July, even as commodities prices in some cases have lost ground.
It all has to do with the end of cash currency, as we can see from the article excerpt above. The idea is that people are gradually realizing the abolition of cash is not just a fantasy but something that make take place within their lifetimes and maybe even within a decade or sooner.
DuPont has been dumping the chemical, C8 (Perfluorooctanoic Acid), into the water supply near its facility in West Virginia for decades, igniting too many lawsuits to count. Carla Bartlett of Ohio is the first in over 3,500 lawsuits against the company to actually win. DuPont has known of the chemical’s toxicity since the 1950’s, but continued to manufacturer it.
DuPont was found negligent and was forced to award Bartlett $1.6 million. The verdict included $1.1 million against DuPont for damages arising from its negligence and $500,000 additional compensation for the emotional distress which Bartlett suffered as a result of DuPont’s conduct.
Perhaps most emblematic of this complete fraud and corruption that has engulfed our system is the spectacle of Hillary Clinton’s candidacy for President. She is clearly the front-running candidate for the Democrats and likely would win a head-to-head against any of the Republicans. How is this sanely possible?
Anyone who bothered to pick up a newspaper just a few times per year since 1991, when Bill was first running for President, knows that Hillary is probably the most corrupt attorney and politician in the history of the country. Whitewater and her “successful” foray in cattle futures (anyone remember those?) don’t even garner scrutiny anymore because her list of dirty laundry is so long and filthy. Needless to say, Hillary Clinton should be in front of a firing squad – not in front of Congress justifying her role in Benghazi and the likely next President of the U.S.
Some might call it a “miracle,” but alternative and holistic medicine healers aren’t really surprised to learn that a 12-year old Amish girl is now cancer-free — after her doctors testified in court just six months ago that she would be dead by now if her family were permitted to refuse her chemotherapy.
As reported by the Medina Gazette, of Medina County, Ohio, Maurice Thompson, head of the libertarian non-profit group 1852 Center for Constitutional Law, said young Sarah Hershberger now shows no signs of being stricken with cancer at all and appears to be healthy.
“She had MRIs and blood work, and the judge over the last year helped facilitate at least one trip to the Cleveland Clinic. The MRIs did not show any cancer,” Thompson told the Gazette recently.
Once again we get to continue along this discussion of how the price of silver is truly formed in the market as we see it today.
The reason for that is so that you can have as a resource the ability to go to a whole set of information that shows you what’s really happening in real time, rather than going out and feeling disconnected or disintegrated and looking weak correlations that have no connection to anything.
This episode will cover the “Trading Standard of Care”.
We’ve started this series going shallow and wide, on the subject of the major factors that control price discovery.
“If you controlled the meaning of The Good, and you had unlimited propaganda resources and access to the press, and if you also had control over the Armed Forces and the police, you could build a new society in short order. You could wreck centuries of tradition in a few decades. And if you had the education system in your back pocket, you could wipe out the memory of what formerly existed. No one would remember. No one would care. This is happening now, in Europe. Ignorance is enlightenment.” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)
One of the basic principles of elite Globalism is: the end of borders, the end of separate nations.
It’s hard to say which lie about gold is the biggest whopper.
Many widely held beliefs about gold are lies – propaganda hammered home to have us believe the only true measure of wealth is government-issued debt.
Big Lie #1: Gold is a barbarous relic.
Repeated for decades, this misquote of 20th century socialist economist John Maynard Keynes perpetuates a lie exploited as an almost biblical prophecy of gold’s demise.
What Keynes actually wrote in 1923 was “the gold standard is already a barbarous relic.” Big-spender Keynes was advocating legislation to demolish gold’s restrictive power over government spending.
As far as pop-culture is concerned, as of yesterday — October 21, 2015 — we are now living in the future. (Cue the Twilight Zone music.)
In 1985, the world was first introduced to an eccentric duo taking on the impossible together: time travel. Cinematic history was made with the unveiling of Back to the Future.
Then again in 1989, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) reunited and embarked on an epic journey somewhere us mere mortals would have to wait 26 years to go to — they traveled forward in time to Oct. 21, 2015 (a.k.a. yesterday). Cinematic future prophecy was made with the unveiling of Back to the Future II.
